Duterte sa CPP NPA ngayong kapaskuhan: No ceasefire with communist rebels ‘ever again under my term’

Ayon kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte walang tigil-putukan sa mga rebeldeng komunista sa panahon ng kapaskuhan ngayong taon o "kahit kailan man" sa panahon ng administrasyon niya.

“There will be no ceasefire ever again under my term as president. For all intents and purposes the ceasefire is dead,” ayon sa pangulo nitong Lunes

Sinabi ng pangulo na ang pagbabalik ng peace talks sa pagitan ng pamahalaan at National Democratic Front (NDF), ang nakikipag ayos para sa Communist Party of the Philippines ay maituturing nang "patay".

“When I walked away from the talks because we cannot understand each other. Maybe we were talking in different dialects, I don’t know why, but I simply cannot understand the way it was being carried by the other side, the way it was being played,” aniya

“For all intents and purposes, the ceasefire is dead. And the peace talks between the NDF, the NPA [New People’s Army], along with all of you – I am identifying you because I have seen the records; you are really communists,” ayon pa sa pangulo

Giit ng Pangulo, hindi katanggap-tanggap ang kahilingan ng mga rebelde na bumuo ng isang gobyerno ng koalisyon.

“No stupid president will allow it. He will get impeached. You are not supposed to share that power… those powers given to me under the law are only to be exercised unless they are capable of being delegated. I cannot compromise anything in this government. It’s either I will be impeached or the military and police will shoot me,” aniya

Sinabi din niya na papangalanan niya ang lahat ng mga kasangkot sa NDF bago matapos ang kanyang termino.

Nauna rito, inirekomenda ng Armed Forces of the Philippines sa Pangulo na huwag ideklara ang suspensyon ng operasyon ng militar sa New People’s Army (NPA) dahil sa patuloy na ginagawa ng mga rebelde.

Sa naunang bahagi ng taon ay nagdeklara ang gobyerno at ang CPP ng isang tigil-putukan upang magbigay-daan para sa laban ng bansa sa coronavirus pandemic.

Pinalawig ng CPP ang truce nito ng 15 araw. Ngunit pareho umanong hindi tumigil ang magkabilang panig.
