Duterte on Kadamay, Leftists: Mabulok kayo sa kulungan!

Manila, Philippines - President Rodrigo Duterte was very lenient to the urban group Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay)  who took over a housing facility meant for soldiers in Pandi, Bulacan three years ago.

Howeverr, the president had enough of this hardheaded urban poor group who held a hunger protest in Quezon City last April 1, despite the enhanced closed quarantine directive. 


Because of this, Duterte had promised to punish every rallyists involved in the protest. 

“Kayong mga Kadamay, hindi — walang, wala ng awa-awa. Diyan na kayo. Ang nahuli, wala (kawala),” said Duterte in a speech hours after the violent dispersal of the rallyists which led to the arrest of 21 Kadamay members.

“Ngayon, ‘pag kayo ang na-detain, bahala kayo sa pagkain ninyo. Kaysa ibigay ko doon sa mga loko-loko, kagaya ninyo panggulo, ibigay ko na lang ‘yon sa mga matino pati nangangailangan,” he added.

Most of the protesters were residents of Sitio San Roque, claimed they went to EDSA in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa on the morning of April 1 to call on Mayor Joy Belmonte for they have not received any cash subsidies or food packs from the Quezon City government.


Duterte said, the Kadamay protest was another attempt by the Communist Party of the Philippines to take advantage of the national health crisis to urge discord among the public.

“Huwag ninyong gamitin ang pwersa. I am addressing the left na ‘yung pambabastos ninyo ‘yung slamming about the distribution. Remember kayong mga left: You are not the government. Naintindihan ninyo ‘yan? Hindi kayo nasa gobyerno and you cannot be a part of what we are planning to do for the nation,” Duterte said.

“Kaya huwag kayong mag gawa ng kalokohan at mag-riot-riot diyan because I will order you detained at bibitawan ko kayo pagkatapos na wala na itong COVID. Huwag ninyong subukan ang Pilipino. Alam mo we are ready for you. Gulo o barilan o patayan, I will not hesitate my soldiers to shoot you. I will not hesitate to order the police to arrest and detain you,” he added.
