Some senators like Risa Hontiveros expressed disappointment
at how the Senate handles the investigation of Dengvaxia vaccine fiasco.
Hontiveros said, it should have been done in a “more
participatory and democratic manner” pointing out that all senators could have
had time to ask their own questions.
“After all, the blue ribbon committee is a collegial body.
Personally, I had a hard time asking questions because there was not enough
latitude and flexibility,” Hontiveros said in a text message.
Senator Richard Gordon of the Senate blue ribbon committee chaired
the hearings on the anti-dengue vaccine which was first administered during the
time of former President Benigno Aquino III.
“Personally, I had a hard time asking questions because
there was not enough latitude and flexibility,” Hontivero also said.
“Despite that, I attended all the hearings, tried to be very
patient and asserted my right to ask my own questions,” she added.
Also, Senator Francis “Kiko”
Pangilinan aired the same concern.
“Hopefully we will have a chance
to ask our questions thoroughly when another hearing is called,” he said.
The same dismay was also
expressed by Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, saying that it was hard to join
the questioning.
