Former Senator and avid critic of President Duterte, Antonio Trillanes IV is challenging President Duterte for his “ivory tower policy” in executing the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

In his latest Facebook post, Trillanes is questioning Duterte’s decision why he has allowed some private establishments to remain operational but he ordered to stop the operation of public transportation.

“Duterte allowed hospitals, pharmacies, banks, and supermarkets (plus POGOs and flights to and from China) to operate, yet he prohibited PUVs. So, he assumed na lahat ng mga empleyado rito ay may sariling kotse? Paki ayos naman ulit,” Trillanes said.

Trillanes believes that it was the obligation of the opposition to call the attention of Duterte for his “incompetence” so he could remedy any failure.

“The opposition has been quietly cooperating for the sake of this collective effort to contain the virus. But it is still our obligation to call out Duterte for his incompetence, like this ivory tower policy. Remember, kundi sya pupunahin, hindi sya magaayos at magpapatuloy ang kapalpakan,” he added.

The chief executive recently declared an enhanced community quarantine throughout Luzon as the number of coronaviruses infections continue to rise.

The Department of Health ordered a strict protocol involves in-home quarantine for Luzon residents, suspension of public transportation, and travel restrictions in the main island to minimize contamination.
