Vice President Leni Robredo angered Tuesday (March 17) by the Facebook ads claiming that her office was hiring vans for free shuttle services for healthcare workers.

She got furious to the individuals behind the nasty ad which intends to put her office in a bad light, according to her.

Robredo even shared on Facebook the said ad which claimed the Office of the Vice President (OVP) was looking for 300 vans for hire that can accommodate more than 10 persons.

As per the ad, van owners will be paid P3,500 a day and with a P500 gas allowance. Interested parties were told to report to Robredo’s official residence in New Manila.

On the other hand, the vice president vehemently denied that the OVP was hiring any vehicles for their proposed free shuttle for COVID-19 frontliners starting Wednesday, March 18.

“This is a malicious Facebook entry which intends to put our office in a bad light. The free shuttle service that we will be offering to medical frontliners is through the kindness and generosity of private organizations, at no cost to the government,” she said.

Robredo is encouraging the netizens to help them report those behind the fake ads, as she promised to hold them accountable.

“Please help us report. We will make sure that we will hold whoever is behind this accountable.  Walang sukdulan na kasamaan ang sinuman na nakakaisip pa ng mga ganitong kagaguhan sa panahon ng matinding sakuna,” she added.

However, the OVP mentioned earlier that they would provide free vehicle services to health workers and other frontliners to ease them of the burden of reporting for duty since total mass transportation was suspended under the enhanced community quarantine all over Luzon.

The OVP has yet to announce details of the free shuttle service for healthcare workers, but they assured the transport service will start Wednesday (March 18).
