Deputy Administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Margaux Esther “Mocha” Uson has expressed her support for Solicitor General Jose Calida following a quo warranto petition filed before the Supreme Court against ABS CBN.

Uson said in a tweet, “SolGen Calida is also just doing his job,”

The former Palace communications official was commenting on ABS-CBN veteran journalist Ces Drilon’s tweet quoting reporter Mike Navallo’s work.

“I am just doing my job,” Navallo commented when Calida confronted him after filing the petition against the media giant.

Calida, on Monday, filed a petition to revoke the existing franchise of ABS CBN network, saying the TV network has violated rules set by Congress.

According to CNN Philippines, Calida said he wants to put an end to "highly abusive practices of ABS-CBN" which went unnoticed for years.

He cited that ABS CBN allowed foreign investors to "take part in the ownership of a Philippine mass media entity" despite being prohibited by the Constitution.

"The legislative franchises of ABS-CBN Corporation and its subsidiary, ABS-CBN Convergence, Inc., must be revoked. A franchise is a special privilege granted by the State, and should be restricted only to entities which faithfully adhere to our Constitution and laws," Calida said in a statement

However, the solicitor general clarified that there is no politicking involved in filing the petition.
