Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa’s US visa has been cancelled on Wednesday, January 22.
Dela Rosa confirmed this in a separate text messages to
reporters that his US visa had been canceled and was told to re-apply if he
wants to secure a US visa again.
He said the cancellation of his US visa in a text message:
"Yes. They officially answered my official query."
The senator said he received the official response of the US
government to his query only last January 10.
"No date given basta mag-apply lang daw ako uli kung
gusto ko, kasi the present visa was canceled," Dela Rosa said.
Bato said that he did not know when the specific date when
his visa was canceled. It was supposed to expire in 2022.
He was prompted to inquire about the status of his US visa
because of the rumors that it has been canceled which circulated last month.
“I have heard rumors about it, but I have not received any
official confirmation [from the US Embassy in Manila]. But I’m planning to send
them a letter,” Dela Rosa said during that time.
According to Politiko last December, Washington cancelled
Dela Rosa's US visa as it reinforced its elimination on human rights violators.
