Philippines – Opposition Senator Risa Hontiveros said in a statement on
Wednesday, dismissed President Rodrigo Duterte’s rising popularity, with eight
out of 10 Filipinos satisfied with the President's performance.

said Duterte’s popularity doesn’t mean Filipinos accept his leadership style. World
history shows authoritarian leaders will fall eventually.
“Alam natin sa history ng ibang mga bansa, nagkaroon ng mga
authoritarian at even dictatorial governments na sa simula ay may bihis
demokratiko. Pero sabi rin ng history, ang lahat ng mga authoritarian, matatalo
din at naglalaho din,” she said Wednesday.
“Hindi ko sasabihin na acceptance, kasi kahit sino namang tao, palagay
ko hindi talaga tatanggapin sa puso ang patayan, ang kabastusan sa kababaihan o
kaya yung pagtataksil sa national interest at pagpapailalim sa Tsina o sa kahit
anong bansa,” she added
The opposition
senator said Duterte should instead use his courage in fighting against China’s
aggression in the West Philippine Sea, asserting our rights in the Exclusive\Economic Zone (EEZ), and pushing for genuine programs and reforms for the general
welfare of Filipinos.
“Tinatanggap ko parang sinasabi ng mga survey popular siya but also
everything that I have said, hindi ibig sabihin nito maayos ang pamumuno niya,
na hindi ibig sabihin nito habambuhay na lang ay mananatili siya diyan sa
kapangyarihan. Most of all, ang ibig sabihin nito ay para sa amin sa oposisyon,
kailangan namin na higit pa magtrabaho kasama ang ating mga kababayan,” Hontiveros said.

Ang pagbagsak ni Duterte has been the fervent wish of the opposition for quite a long long time. They've thrown everything at him including the kitchen sink to no avail. He still remained very popular with no sign of waning. Just going stronger and stronger. About time they should see the light. Sometimes, I noticed that Drilon is now having a change of heart. Parang gusto nang bumaliktad.

ReplyDeleteAn opposition clothe in yellow but actually the color is red being a professional communist propagandist. Hindi babagsak si Pres. Digong dahil lahat ginagawa niya ay para sa lahat na nagnanais ng pagbabago which is a clear majority of the Filipino masses. Si Pres. Digong will have a graceful exit when his term ends. Maghintay ka Hontiveros sa pagbagsak ng komunismo mo.
