Manila, Phlippines – Things are getting quite messy for the
two religious leaders Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ
(KJC) and Pastor Joel Apolinario of KAPA Ministry amid President Rodrigo
Duterte’s order to investigate on investment scams in Mindanao.
Quiboloy claimed that he has been receiving death threats since
he interviewed Duterte last June 8 over his Sonshine TV network and encourages
him to probe on KAPA’s pyramid scam.
“May mga unverified reports ako. Di
kayo?” said Quiboloy as rephrased by ABS-CBN News.
Apolinario retaliated Quiboloy with disdain for being a whiner
after a huge number of his KJC members tranfered to KAPA because of
Apolinario’s promise of a 30 percent monthly “blessing” or earnings from their
“donation” or investment.
mo?” Apolinario said in a radio interview.
Bakit anong
purpose mo doon? Naku Quiboloy!” Apolinario added.
KAPA currently has a 10-million base, according to member and
Ahon sa Kahirapan Movement convenor Danny Mangahas. Majority of them are
overseas Filipino workers and urban poor residents.Short for Kabus Padatoon [translation: making the poor rich], KAPA receives donations from its members. In exchange, donors are promised a 30 percent monthly return — called "love gifts" or "monthly blessings" — for life.
