Manila, Philippines – Outgoing opposition Senator Antonio
Trillanes IV has been attacked again by President Duterte involving the Senator’s
mother and the alleged mastermind of Pork barrel scam Janet Napoles.
The President said, Trillanes’ mother, his father and Janet Napoles were
involved in an alleged anomalous purchase of Kevlar helmets.
It was claimed that both Trillanes’ parents were involved in
graft and corruption at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) during his father’s
stint, the President said during the inauguration of his son as Davao City Vice
Mayor Sebastian Duterte last Friday.
“If there was
something wrong, if there was money there, kila Trillanes ‘yon, hindi sa amin.
Ang No. 1 na graft and corruption diyan noon sa PMA, ‘yung tatay niya pati
‘yung nanay niya,” President Duterte
said.
“Remember ‘yung
Kevlar? It’s a helmet na matigas na hindi matamaan ng . . . kung bala hindi
masyado maka-penetrate. That’s Kevlar. Ang nag-deliver noon ang nanay ni
Trillanes pati si Napoles. ‘Yan ang totoo diyan,” he also added.
It was headlined in the Inquirer in July of 2013, the controversial P10-billion pork barrel scam allegedly by businesswoman Janet Napoles as the mastermind.
Also mentioned in the said anomalous P10-billion Pork
barrel scam was the alleged purchase of Kevlar helmets worth P3.8 million, involving
Janet Napoles’ husband, retired Marine Major Jaime Napoles was also charged
with Graft and corruption and malversation of funds in connection with the
alleged ill transaction.
As previously mentioned by the Chief Executive back in
September 2018, that the mother of Trillanes was also accused of allegedly
entering into shady deals with the Philippine Navy when the senator and his father were still in the military. This was a clear case of conflict of interest, the President said.
Trillanes has denied all the allegations and revealed that
his mother was suffering from advanced Parkinson’s Disease.
