Manila, Philippines – Maranao civic leader Samira Gutoc was
the biggest surprise in the CNN Philippines senatorial debate, according to
reports as she proved to be the most fun and enlightening to watch among the
participants.
Gutoc has reportedly slain her fellow candidates during the
debate with her final words.
“Ang biktima ng tokhang ina, bata. Ang biktima ng TRAIN Law
ina, bata. Ang biktima ng martial law ina, bata, because the conflicts’ victims
are women and families,” the lady Otso Diretso candidate said
“Ako ay tumitindig para sa mga taong walang boses, hindi
makakarating sa Maynila, walang mikropono. Kailangang tutukan ang mga
kababaihan na binabastos, ang mga batang ginagawang orphans,” she said.
“Tinokhang, pinatay wala namang survivorship funds. It’s not
the PNP’s job to kill people, it is to protect the people and that is the job
of Samira Gutoc,” she added.
Gutoc was a former member of the Bangsamoro Transition
Commission, who said that she resigned due to President Rodrigo Duterte’s rape
jokes.
She also believes that martial law in Mindanao is uncalled
for and continues to pose threats to residents’ rights.
