Greeting with Sarcasm! Angel Locsin says congrats to Calida for being the 2nd highest-paid gov’t official

According to previous news articles Solicitor General Jose Calida is the second-highest-paid government official, earning P16.95 million in 2019, based on a report on salaries and allowances of the Commission on Audit (COA)

Meanwhile, Inquirer reported that Calida received a salary of P2.91 million last year, and monetary benefits, including honorariums, reaching P11.91 million.He also received P288,500 in allowances, P550,618 in bonuses and P312,000 in discretionary funds last year.

With these earnings, Calida still stands as the highest paid solicitor general in the Philippine history.

The former Darna star Angel Locsin then congratulated solicitor general Calida for almost topping the highest-paid officials list, which seems to be a sarcastic remark from the actress.

The Kapamilya actress posted in her social media account her congratulatory remark caption saying “uy, congrats”, on the said Calida article.

 Calida made headlines in recent months on the ABS-CBN franchise renewal for advising the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to close down ABS-CBN.

 And eventually, the House of Representatives rejected the franchise renewal of the largest network in the country.

The said shut down decision of ABS-CBN by the congress as claimed by many people especially those in the industry of media and entertainment a sign of oppression of Press freedom by the government.

They even pointed finger to the most powerful official in the government as the one behind the order to close down the Kapamilya network. However, Malcañang has completely denied the allegations.

Angel Locsin is a famous leading lady actress and endorser in the country and best known for her portrayal of the local superhero Darna.

She is currently engaged to her partner, movie producer/businessman Neil Arce. They were scheduled to get married this year but have put it on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Locsin is also known as one of the most charitable celebrities in the country and recently became the favorite in the social media .

Recently, she donated test kits for COVID-19 with the help of actress Anne Curtis. In addition, Angel has been active in expressing her support for the ABS-CBN shutdown.

The Kapamilya star has emphasized that closing down ABS-CBN would lead to thousands of employees losing their jobs.
