ni Senadora Grace Poe ang mga patama na statement ni House Speaker Alan Peter
Cayetano sa Senado na kaya nagkaroon ng Senate query tungkol sa prangkisa ng
ABS CBN ay dahil nais lang sumipsip ng ilang mga mambabatas sa giant TV network.
Ayon pa kay
Poe, na chair ng Senate Public Services Committee at nagsulong ng Senate
hearing, ‘cheap’ umano ang mga paratang ni Cayetano.
“You know
when I deal with counterparts from the House, at least, me personally and I
think many of my colleagues, we try to maintain a level of respect and decorum
because name-calling cheapens the debate,” ayon kay Poe sa panayam sa ANC.
“When you
start name-calling, kung gumagamit ka ng mga salitang ganon, ibig sabihin
nawawalan ka ng basehan para sa tamang argumento,” dagdag pa niya
Para kasi
kay Cayetano, hindi dapat idaan sa Senado muna ang usapin sa franchise renewal
ng ABS CBS dahil nararapat na dumaan muna ito sa Kongreso.
Subalit
ayon naman kay Poe, hindi umano sila mag lalabas ng committee report hanggang
hindi naipapasa ang renewal ng prangkisa ng network sa Kongreso.
“You know,
Speaker Cayetano is a very intelligent politician and he’s been a lawmaker for
many years, he should know that it’s in the Constitution that grants both
houses the right for oversight.
Section 6 Article 21 allows us to conduct
hearings in aid of legislation and to find out if the franchise holders are
compliant with the agreements that they have with the government,” ayon pa kay
Poe
Dagdag pa ng
senadora, hindi niya mawari kung bakit tingin ng iba ay “out of ordinary” ang
pagdinig na kanilang ginawa.

conducted hearings with the budget and as well as taxes either simultaneously
