Petiks daw? #OustDuterte trends as critics slam Duterte for being chill amid virus threat

Twitter was said to be flooded with posts about President Rodrigo Duterte from his critics asking for his resignation on Friday (January 31, 2020) as some netizens express disappointment with how he handled the danger of 2019 novel coronavirus also known as 2019-nCoV.

According to a report by Politiko, the hashtag #OustDuterte got the second-highest spot on Twitter’s trend list for the Philippines with more than 37,000 tweets as of last night.

The report said that netizens were allegedly not happy about Senator Bong Go’s announcement that the President’s meeting with government officials over the 2019-nCoV threat is scheduled next week.

“Ah next week pa pala. Di kasi masyadong important,” said ex-president Aquino’s spokesperson, Abigail Valte in a tweet.

“IF WE SURVIVE THIS #CoronaVirusOutbreak—we must make sure that no more Duterte becomes Pres., & that no ally of his becomes his successor, too! DUTERTE BRINGS ONLY MISERY, SUFFERING, & DEATH. KUNG MAHAL MO SARILI MO, PAMILYA MO, AT BANSA MO, PATUNAYAN MO SA 2022! #OustDuterte” said another activist named Frank Baraan

 “Can we all effin’ agree that Duterte is the worst President of the Philippines? The laziest. The most crass. The most anything (with an intention of being bad in description). #OustDuterte #OustDuterte2020” Another twitter user named elyasjuan said
