In a speech delivered in
Taguig, President Rodrigo Duterte recalled
how her daughter Sara has always been the best example of macho.
President Duterte shares how his daughter, Davao City Sara
Duterte-Carpio controlled her brothers around when they were still in their
younger age.
“Nung mag-pilian na.
Ikaw, ikaw man ‘yung alpha (Rep.) Alan (Cayetano) sa pamilya. Sa pamilya namin…
hindi ako, si Inday. Kung sabihin ni Inday, ganito, ganito ‘yan. Sa pamilya
namin, siya ‘yan,” the President said.
“Ngayon, eh si Pulong ambisyon
— ambisyoso ‘yan. Nasa Congress ngayon. Pero itong Sebastian, ang gusto niyan
babae lang, pasyal, kung ano. Tapos ayaw, ayaw tumakbo. So tinawag siya ni
Inday, sinabi ni Inday, ‘Ano tatakbo ka o hindi?’ Sabi niya, ‘Sige na lang ‘te,
magtakbo na lang ako’,” he
added.
The chief executive further said how his two sons growing
up, Sebastian, who is now vice mayor of Davao City, and Rep. Paolo Duterte
feared their sister.
“Kasi nung maliit pa makita mo kung sipain ni Inday ‘yun,
lumilipad talaga hanggang kusina. Takot na takot sa… Pati ‘yan si Pulong. ‘Yung
Pulong na ‘yan palasing-lasing. Kung ganyan, tawagin niyo si Inday. Iyan si
Inday, straight ‘yan maski nasusuka na. Takot ‘yan sa kapatid nilang babae.
Lumaki sila binubugbog,” according to him.
Duterte instead advised the two boys to just take the challenge and never hit back their sister for she was just concerned for the best of you as her brothers.
“Sabi ko sa kanila, huwag
ninyong saktan ang kapatid ninyong babae. Kasi bubugbugin ko talaga kayo. Sabi
nila, ‘Siya man ang una, Pa. Sinuntok niya ako, sinipa’. ‘Hayaan mo, g***.
Lalaki ka, magpakalalaki ka. Hindi ka — babae ‘yan’. Eh naglaki ‘yan si Inday,
suntok dito, sipa doon. Noong lumaki na sila, wala na silang magawa,” he said.
Sara Duterte-Carpio is Davao
City's first woman mayor and the youngest to have been elected to the position
in the political history of Davao City after she switched roles with her father
Rodrigo Duterte from 2010-2013 as mayor and vice-mayor, respectively. Vowing to
be “useful and to serve the country at all times,”
Sara is commonly known as
Inday Sara, she is a Filipina lawyer, politician and the incumbent Mayor of
