Duterte to Poe on emergency powers: "Grace, hindi lahat ng tao dito sa mundong ito magnanakaw"

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday can no longer control himself and chided Senator Grace Poe for allegedly blocking the emergency powers in easing the deadly traffic congestion in Metro Manila.

The president said the traffic congestion in the Metro would be Poe’s legacy because the lady senator had been suspicious that money for traffic-related projects would be lost due to corruption.

“Pero ‘yang Edsa, hinayaan ko talaga. There was this one lady senator who said na: ‘No, no, ma-corrupt ‘yan.’ Hindi pa nga nag-umpisa ng project, nagsasalita na,” Duterte said during the oath-taking of the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines in Malacañang.

“Ano sabihin ko kay Grace: ‘Grace, hindi lahat ng tao dito sa mundong ito magnanakaw,’” he added.

After Congress failed to grant him emergency powers, the President said he intentionally left EDSA in its current state.

“Sinadya ko talaga ‘yan. Pagdating ng panahon p***** i**, meron na ngang solution eh sabihin niyo ‘corruption’ … Yan ang legacy niya. Make it a legacy ng pagka-politiko. It’s not mine,” he said.

Poe, who heads the public service committee, earlier said that Duterte can ease traffic in Metro Manila without emergency powers from Congress.

“It’s easy to throw around the idea of emergency powers, but what can really ease the traffic problem is stage 3 of the Metro Manila Skyway project,” Poe said in Filipino

 “Another is the deployment of new trains at the MRT-3.” She added
