“Anong klaseng parent ka?" Bato slams Zarate for tolerating ‘missing’ student instead of bringing her to mother.

The Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs headed by Senator Ronald 'Bato" Dela Rosa has held two hearings on the alleged recruitment of students by leftist groups. Lucena’s mother appeared as a resource person in the hearing last week.

Dela Rosa has slammed Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate for holding a press conference with the former Far Eastern University student whom her mother has been searching for months.

He lambasted Zarate for not returning Alicia Lucena, a student reported missing by her mother, Relissa Lucena.

Lucena held a press conference in the House of Representatives with Cong. Zarate, Kabataan Rep. Sarah Elago, and other members of so-called Makabayan bloc on Wednesday (August 14) to deny that she has been kidnapped, as accused by her mother.

“I tell you Congressman Zarate, you’re also a parent. If you’re a responsible parent, alam mo umiiyak yung mother, hindi ka ba naawa sa mother? Tinulungan mo na sana, hinatid mo yung bata sa mother,” the former PNP chief said in an interview in the Senate.

Dela Rosa gave a harsh remark to Zarate: “Anong klaseng parent ka? Nakikita mo hirap ng nanay, tapos ikaw nagpa-press con pa kasama ‘yung bata sa Congress. Kung ikaw responsableng congressman, dalhin mo ang bata. ‘Madam andito anak mo.'” Bato said

Dela Rosa said that Zarate should have brought Alicia Lucena to see her mother instead of facing the media with her.

“Sasabihin ng bata, ayaw ko sa kanila. Alis siya. At least you have done an amount of kindness to a grieving mother,” he told Zarate

Dela Rosa also said, “May pananagutan siya sa Diyos, kung siya ay naniniwala sa Diyos. Pero yung kanilang ideology wala siya pannagutan, dahil di naman siya naniniwala.” He asked if Zarate could be held legally liable for being with Lucena.
