Manila, Philippines - Newly Elected Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso lead the first ever flag raising ceremony of the Local Government of Manila at the newly overhauled Liwasang Bonifacio Shrine.

The Mayor is happy to announce the newly restored Liwasang Bonifacio Shrine can now be enjoyed again by the People of Manila and other tourists as well.



During the first flag raising ceremony, the mobile kitchen of the city of Manila also arrived to distribute free “Lugaw” for everyone.

 Mayor Isko said during his speech in the flag ceremony, “Ano ang ipakikita natin sa ating mga anak na mga rebiultong yan ay balewala? Samantalang yan ay itinatag ng Estado, ng pamahalaan upang ipaalala sa darating na panahon, sa mga anak natin, sa mga kabataan, na kapag ika’y gumawa ng kabutihan sa iyong kapwa, ika’y gumawa ng kabutihan sa inyong komunidad, sa iyong bansa at sa pagmamahal mo, ika’y gagantimpalaan kahit na pantay na ang paa mo,”

“Hindi bagay na itong mga simpleng puwesto, lugar na babuyin at pakinabangan lang ng iilan,” he added.

Mayor Domagoso also assured local government employees that they will be given, their benefits that had been denied in the past administrations, such as allowances and promotions allowances that had been withheld in the past, and a fair system of promotions for deserving employees.



He assured the city’s finance department to prioritize the city government’s obligations to its employees first before paying commercial contracts.

“What is due to you will be given to you,” Domagoso said. 


On the other hand, Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna who was also present during the flag raising ceremony also announced the proposed ordinances lowering of the real property tax to 20% and the granting of dispensation for regulatory fees like real property taxes, regulatory fees, business taxes and other service charges.


Vice Mayor Lacuna also mentioned the City’s proposed granting a P500 monthly pensions to senior citizens, person with disabilities and solo parents, as well as a monthly allowance of P1,000 for all qualified and deserving students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Universidad de Manila.
