Manila, Philippines - Department
of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro “Teddyboy” Locsin Jr. lambasted GMA 7 political
analyst Richard Heydarian for his degrading comments on how President Rodrigo
Duterte handles foreign affairs.
Locsin posted on his Twitter
account for his followers on Monday (July 8) that they should not get the truth
from “sore losers.”
He tweeted the comment in
response to a netizen, @marortoll, who said the Philippines always lags behind
because people aspire to put one over the other.
“Believe the truth. Listen to Freddie Mercury’s
Bohemian Rhapsody. Listen to the truth wheresoever or from whomsoever it comes,
the truth and nothing but the truth. But don’t get it from sore losers; they’re
incapable of it,” Locsin said.
Netizen @marortoll posted on
twitter criticizing Heydarian for asking netizens who they would rather believe
on the issue of the West Philippine Sea: President Duterte or the former Supreme
Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio.
Heydarian asked the netizens, “Who to believe? A bar top notcher jurist or a pasang awa mayor?” in
connection to the recent news article about Carpio saying the country’s
exclusive economic zone is not “thoughtless and senseless.”
"The 'use and enjoyment' of these resources cannot be
shared with, or given away, to foreign nationals," Carpio added.
Duterte has understated the Constitution’s provision on the
Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), saying China can fish in Philippine waters that
are supposedly exclusive for Filipinos’ enjoyment.
