Former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte on Monday slams the
Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) after its admission that it was
considering giving free legal assistance to Peter Joemel Advincula, the man who
surfaced yesterday claiming to be Bikoy.
The presidential son said he lost his respect for the IBP
for easily believing Bikoy, who was an alleged scammer – according to reports.
“Kapanipaniwala daw ang mga alegasyon ni Bikoy sabi ng IBP.
Ano? Wa mo kuyapi? Nakakawala ng respeto ang IBP,” said the former Davao City vice
mayor.
“Mga abogado kayo, matatalino sana kayo, pero, nakapagtataka
lang na ang bilis ninyong paniwalaan ang sinasabi ng isang kilalang scammer na
nagpakilalang si Bikoy. Kataw-anan kaayo mo.” He added
Duterte was angered y IBP’s move, considering that Advincula
once allegedly Naga City’s most wanted in 2012 and was even convicted over
charges of illegal recruitment and large scale estafa in Camarines Sur and
Albay.
In his first video, Bikoy accused Honeylet, the president's
common-law wife of receiving money from drug syndicates through bank accounts
in the name of Kitty.
Pulong Duterte, together with his brother-in-law, Atty.
Manases Carpio and administration senatorial bet Bong Go, has also been accused
as part of large drug syndicate called the “Davao Group.”
