Former Akbayan Rep. Walden Bello has cautioned the public of the creeping dictatorship of President Duterte following the arrest of Rappler CEO and Maria Ressa over a cyber libel complaint filed by a businessman named Wilfredo Keng.
Bello, in a Facebook post supported and lauded Ressa for defending the press freedom.
“I've never felt prouder of the Rappler family than when Maria Ressa stood up for freedom of the press the last two days and told Digong to go screw himself.” He wrote
“Make no mistake: Duterte is determined to go all the way to dictatorship.” Bello said.
He said that Duterte should also expect that millions of Filipinos will not back down easily.
“But there’s one thing this guy should expect: millions of Filipinos won’t make it easy for him and his gang of thugs (Bato), crooks (Jinggoy, Revilla), liars (Imee “Princeton” Marcos), and assorted asslickers (Gordon, Go, etc.) to get there,” he said
Below is Walden Bello’s complete Facebook post:
HEY MARIA RESSA, YOU'RE GREAT...
I've been a regular contributor to Rappler since 2015, and I've never felt prouder of the Rappler family than when Maria Ressa stood up for freedom of the press the last two days and told Digong to go screw himself.
Make no mistake: Duterte is determined to go all the way to dictatorship. But there's one thing this guy should expect: millions of Filipinos won't make it easy for him and his gang of thugs (Bato), crooks (Jinggoy, Revilla), liars (Imee "Princeton" Marcos), and assorted asslickers (Gordon, Go, etc.) to get there.
