Para kay House Deputy Minority Leader at Bayan Muna party-list Rep Carlos Isagani Zarate, mauuwi rin sa wala ang pagpapalawig ng enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) sa National Capital Region at sa apat na karatig probinsya kung paulit-ulit lang ang palpak na pagtugon ng pamahalaan sa COVID-19.
Ayon kay Zarate, kung walang gagawin at walang maayos na pagtugon sa problema maliban sa puro lockdown, wala umanong magbabago sa sitwasyon sa bansa.
“Without massive free mass testing, aggressive contact tracing, effective and timely isolation and treatment, as well as fast-tracked vaccination roll out, extending the lockdown would be next to pointless as this does not squarely address the problem of COVID-19 infections,” ani Zarate
“It would just be repeating the same inefficient and highly ineffective lockdowns done by the Duterte administration for more than a year now. How can you expect something will change when you keep repeating the same ineffective measures?'” tanong pa nito
Dagdag pa ni Zarate, nasa ika-anim na araw na simula ideklara ang ECQ, ngunit delayed pa rin umano ang pamamahagi ng ayuda sa mga apektadong pamilya.
“Also, the aid or ‘ayuda’ that was supposed to be given to the affected people, now on the sixth day of the lockdown, is still nowhere in sight for the majority,” saad ng Bayan Muna Rep.
“Extending the ECQ is a glaring admission by the administration na pumalpak ito, at patuloy itong pumapalpak" dagdag pa nito
