it was poor judgment on the part of Mayor Richard Gomez of Ormoc City, Leyte to
refuse entry to overseas Filipino workers returning to their hometown from

Sinang-ayunan
ni Castelo ang sinabi ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na walang dahilan upang di
tanggapin ng dating actor ang mga OFWs nan ais umuwi sa probinsya.
“Yes, we
are in a COVID-19 emergency and we can all relate to the Mayor’s predicament.
But it is also an emergency situation when you have hundreds of OFWs already in
the next town on their way home after having been stranded abroad for months.” Paliwanag

Castelo, dapat laging handa ang mayor sa kahit anong pagkakataon, magkaroon man
ng notice o wala ang mga ahensya ng gobyerno.
“The good
mayor could’ve had more flexibility during such an eventuality, because in the
state we are in, nothing is really predictable, regardless if higher
authorities had given you enough notice or not, one must address the pressing

have placed the OFWs in a holding area for identification, and tested all-over
again- considering they’ve already been cleared and deemed negative of the
COVID-19 virus before being released in Manila.” Ayon pa kay Castelo
Sa kabila
nito, nilinaw ng dating singer na nirerespeto nya si Goma bilang isang
kasamahan sa showbiz at public servant, dahil sa kanyang pangako na ipatupad
ang disiplina, at magandang pamamalakad.

we can all learn a thing or two from the wisdom and advice of well-experienced
former local officials, like that of former Mayor and now President, Rodrigo
Duterte,” ayon kay Castelo
Kamakailan
lang ay naglabas ng hinaing si Goma dahil sa kakulangan ng tamang proseso ng balik-probinsya
program ng national government agencies.

OWWA, what happened to all the protocols that you guys are trying to formulate
for returning residents?!!!” ayon sa social media post umano ng actor

kept our city Covid-free for more than 70 days because of strict border
controls and the implementation of health protocols. Then here comes a TEXT
from the National government agencies telling us that there are repatriates
coming in our city and telling us to accept them?!
“What
happened to all the protocols that we’ve been working on? What happened their
protocols that they have been telling us to do if they themselves are not doing
the right thing?!
“It only
takes one infected person to get to our city to infect a hundred innocent
people bec of carelessness from the national government agencies. Where is the
National Task Force Covid Shield and the IATF in all of these?!!!” ani Goma
