Trillanes slams Duterte anew: "A good president doesn’t joke around, threaten own people in times of crisis"

Former Senator and number one critic of President Duterte, Antonio Trillanes IV has took a snide once again about the President's leadership style amids coronavirus disease crisis in the country.

“A good president, especially in a time of crisis, inspires and unifies the nation. He presents his vision and explains clearly his plan of action,” Trillanes said in his Twitter post.


A few days ago, President Duterte in public address, condemned his critics for doing nothing but attacked the government instead of helping for the betterment of the nation.

In Trillanes latest Tweet, he enumerated the qualities of a “good president” during a crisis period in his latest social media post. 

He said a leader must not only motivate people to unite but also present a clear action plan to address a crisis.

Trillanes further added that a good leader never talks aimlessly and threatens his own people.


“He doesn’t joke around nor talk aimlessly, and he never threatens his own people,” the former senator said.

President Duterte earlier warned about implementing a martial law-like lockdown if people will continue to disregard the quarantine protocols in Luzon. 

He will designate the military and police on standby to enforce the social distancing rule and curfew in communities to contain the spreading virus.

Duterte, signed into law RA 11469 otherwise known as the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, which is valid for three months unless extended by Congress last March 25, 2020.


As of writing, Department of Health (DOH),  has recorded 6, 459 positve cases, while there are 200 new cases and 428 deaths and 628 recoveries.
