Pag ako bumagsak, dadalhin kita! Duterte to Drilon: 'Did you craft ‘onerous’ Manila Water, Maynilad contracts?'

Nais malaman ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kung kabilang si Senador Franklin Drilon sa mga gumawa ng di umano’y hindi tamang mga kontrata ng gobyerno sa Manila Water at Maynilad.

Sa isang talumpati na binigay sa Malacanang nitong Martes ng gabi, naalala ng pangulo na binalaan siya ni Drilon laban sa pagrereview ng mga kontrata.

“I distinctly recall that Drilon said something, ‘Presidente Duterte, do not tinker with that contract because we will end up paying so many billions of pesos.’ Senator Drilon, are you one of those who crafted the contract? I’m asking you,” ayon sa Pangulo

“Ako, I said, I’m ready to go down. Hindi kita tinatakot. Pero ‘pag bumagsak ako, dadalhin talaga kita. I will — I will… I’m not — I’m not — nagtakot-takot. I’m not challenging you. You just tell the people the truth. You read the contract aloud and say if it is good for the people.

“But do not f*** with me — takutin mo ako billions of pesos. If I go down, you go down. I am ready anytime. I’m ready to be destroyed anytime. But I will also destroy because you destroyed my country,” dagdag niya

Ang mga komento ni Duterte ay lumabas matapos utusan ng Permanent Court of Arbitration sa Singapore na magbayad ang Maynilad ng P3.6 bilyon at Manila Water ng P7.4 bilyon para sa hindi pagpapatupad ng pagtaas ng tariff rate.

Naunang sinabi ni Drilon na siya ay pabor na suriin ang lahat ng mga kontrata ngunit ang mga, “existing and binding contracts cannot simply be classified as onerous and canceled.”

Samantala, binalaaan din ng Pangulo na kasuhan ang mga water concessionaires ng economic sabotage.
