Following Vice President Leni Robredo’s acceptance to being
co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs, the United States
also expressed support for her.
U.S Ambassador to the
Philippines Sung Kim extends his greetings to Robredo.
Kim, in a twitter post said: “Congratulations
to Vice President @LeniRobredo on her new role as co-chair of the Inter-Agency
Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs,”
“We look forward to continuing
to work together as #FriendsPartnersAllies to support Philippine government
drug demand reduction efforts,” he said.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed
Robredo’s appointment as co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal
Drugs (ICAD) last October 31
The memorandum also said that Robredo
will be of service as anti-drug czar until June 30, 2022.
“The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine National
Police, and Dangerous Drugs Board and all other law enforcement agencies are
hereby directed to extend their full assistance and cooperation to the Vice
President to ensure the success of the Government’s efforts in the war against
illegal drugs,” the memorandum said
