Opposition Senator Risa Hontiveros infuriated after
President Rodrigo Duterte expressed confidence in former Bureau of Corrections
(BuCor) chief Nicanor Faeldon despite firing him in the middle of the scandal about
good conduct time allowances (GCTA).
In her twitter post, she
said Faeldon is far from being upright considering the most recent controversy
he was involved in at the BuCor.
She advised President Rodrigo
Duterte to get hold of a dictionary, & look up the definition of ‘upright.’
After the President described former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief
Nicanor Faeldon as “upright.”
“Kung ‘upright’ sila, ‘di niyo sila sinibak sa
pwesto. ‘Upright’ ba ang nagpakawala ng mga Chinese druglords at muntik na ng
isang unrepentant rapist-murderer? Please get hold of a dictionary, & look
up the definition of ‘upright,'”
the senator said.
Duterte said Friday (September
6) despite firing Faeldon following the controversy on the release of heinous
crimes convicts due to the good conduct time allowance (GCTA) law, Duterte
still had good words about the former BuCor Chief.
“Si Faeldon, tarong na nga tawo (Faeldon is an
upright man). I still believe in him,”
Duterte during the launching of the housing project for landslide victims in
Naga City, Cebu.
He credited Faeldon for forcing Mighty Corp. to pay
billions of pesos in taxes by informing him about the company’s production of
fake cigarette tax stamps.
Hontiveros added in her
Facebook post, ‘Upright’ ba ang
nagpakawala ng mga Chinese druglords at muntik na ng isang unrepentant
rapist-murderer?” referring to the release of four Chinese drug lords and
the attempted early release of former Calauan, Laguna mayor Antonio Sanchez.
