Manila, Philippines - As the Detained opposition Senator Leila de Lima is bracing herself for more lies and persecution from the present administration led by President Duterte.

She is appealing for vigilance and prayers after the US Senators proposing for a visa ban against those linked to her detention.

De Lima has made the appeal after a United States Senate sought to impose a travel ban on Philippine officials involved in her imprisonment.

The senator believes that her fight is not for her alone, she wishes for more people to embrace the truth, justice and human rights as their own.

She said to always fight for the right causes, and that the universal forces of good and light will be there for us. In time, everything will fall into their proper place.

“With this huge development about US Senators proposing for a visa ban against those credibly found to have a hand in my wrongful imprisonment, I brace myself for heightened demonization, persecution & lies from this vindictive President & his minions,” she said in her Twitter.

“I ask for more vigilance, discernment, and prayers. My causes are not mine alone. I wish for more people to embrace these paramount and exacting causes of truth, justice and human rights as their own,” she said.

De Lima strongly believed that good always prevails and evil was “not invincible” and could be defeated by the power of good.
“If we fight always for the right causes, the universal forces of good and light will be there for us. In time, everything will fall into their proper place,” she said.

De Lima, a fierce critic of the administration's controversial anti-drug campaign, has been detained since February 2017 for allegedly involved in drug payoffs from convicted drug lords at the national penitentiary when she was still justice secretary.
