Manila, Philippines – Senator Francis Pangilinan, Liberal
Party President said on Thursday, the Sedition case filed against Vice
President Leni Robredo, members of the opposition and 35 others over “Ang
totoong Narcolist” video was pure harassment and persecution.
Senator Pangilinan said Vice President Robredo was the only
official left standing in the way of the anti-drug campaign of the
administration that took the lives of thousands and in the issue of government’s
policy on China's presence in the West Philippine Sea.
sa bansa,” said Pangilinan.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed complaints at
the Department of Justice for sedition against Robredo, senators Leila de Lima
and Risa Hontiveros, former senators Bam Aquino and Antonio Trillanes IV,
members of the Otso Diretso senatorial slate, and some members of Catholic
Bishops.
The sedition case was in connection with narcolist video circulating
the social media that linked members of the First Family to illegal drugs as
narrated by a certain Bikoy.
Later on, Peter Joemel Advincula, who claimed he was the man wearing a hooded shirt, Bikoy in the "Ang Totoong Narcolist" videos, was also included
in the complaint both as a respondent and can be later on become a witness.
“Political harassment
Kiko said.
“Gawa-gawa, kasinungalingan, at walang basehan sa
katotohanan ang mga paratang,” he added.
