Vice President Leni Robredo has denied false news that she will step down from her post if none of the Otso Diretso senatorial candidates make it to the winning circle of the latest senatorial elections.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Robredo shared a screen shot of a fake quote credited to her, which said: “If no one among the Otso Diretso will win the election, I will step down as Vice President.”

“Let’s continue fighting fake news,” Robredo’s caption said

The vice president also belied the same news on Twitter, saying it is not true as she encourages people to report peddlers of fake news, putting a flag emoji in it.

“Not true. Let’s continue fighting disinformation. Report peddlers of fake news,”  she also said in a tweet
