Manila, Philippines - Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson believes
that the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) should have first
evaluated the documents submitted by Peter Jeonel Advincula, the man who claims
to be “Bikoy.”
“Otherwise, they might be misunderstood as engaging in
political partisanship which could punch a hole and deflate their credibility,”
Lacson said
“By their admission, they haven’t evaluated Bikoy’s
accusations yet they provided him their facility and a forum to air his
accusations,” the senator said
He also said that the Senate has no qualms investigating the
accusations of Bikoy as long as he could submit necessary documents and
evidences to prove his claims.
“As far as the Senate is concerned, we will await his sworn
statement and whatever supporting evidence he has, after which we will evaluate
and proceed from there,” Lacson said.
“If it merits a Senate inquiry, we definitely will conduct
one,” he added.
The man who claims to be Bikoy surfaced on Monday afternoon
at the IBP where he is seeking legal
assistance from the group of lawyers.
According to the news, Bikoy decided to surface due to
threats to his life and his conscience.
