Senatorial candidate, and the Bayan Muna party-list
representative, Neri Colmenares strongly rebukes the results of the midterm
elections as he refused to concede defeat.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday night, Colmenares said the “worst
kind of leaders” won the “rotten” midterm polls, as he described it.
“I will never concede defeat to a rotten electoral exercise
that has basically deceived, bribed, intimidated and manipulated our people
into electing the worst kinds of leaders imaginable.” Colmenares tweeted
“Tuloy ang laban! #LabanPinas,” he added
Colmenares was placed at the 24th spot in the
partial, unofficial tally of the Commission on Elections as of past midnight Wednesday,
garnering 4,588,758 votes so far.
He also condemned the false information relayed to voters on
Election Day that he had been disqualified from the race.
In a video released on May 13, Colmenares warned his
political opponents to stop black propaganda, accusing him of ties with communists’
rebels of the New People's Army.
"Don't load the dice against us anymore. The playing
field has been very unequal, and our resources [have been depleted]. We're
hoping that the Comelec takes action. This harassment should not
continue," Colmenares said, as reported by Philstar
