Nominee of Kasosyo party-list group and former Presidential
Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson strikes back against Rappler CEO Maria
Ressa amid the string of cases filed against the latter.
“Kaya ka natatawag na bobo eh @mariaressa,” Uson said in a
tweet last April 24, as she shared a meme mocking Ressa.
Uson, made the remarks after Ressa reportedly claimed her
only crime was to be a journalist.
In her post, Uson used a meme to list down the cases filed
against the Rappler boss, which includes alleged tax evasion, cyber libel and
violation of the country’s anti-dummy law.

The last arrest warrant issued on Ressa was for violating
the anti-dummy law as she allegedly raised capital from foreigners for her news
website Rappler.
Ressa was arrested as she landed at Ninoy Aquino
International Airport on March 29 and immediately posted bail for her temporary
liberty.
“Coming home to confront yet another ridiculous criminal
case. I didn’t expect the PH government to make my joke about collecting arrest
warrants a reality. This will be my 7th. For being a journalist. All these acts
violating the Bill of Rights will be remembered,” Ressa said in tweet before
her arrest.
The Anti-Dummy Law prohibits foreigners from intervening in
any “nationalized activity” such as the operation of a media company, which
should have 100 percent Filipino control as stated under the 1987 Constitution.
