President Rodrigo Duterte welcomed a Pakistan ship on Thursday docked at the Manila South Harbor as part of its three-day goodwill visit to the Philippines.

The president also toured the ship and greeted the crew.

He was welcomed by officials of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Philippines and also the Pakistan Navy for an exclusive tour inside the Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) SAIF (FFG-253), one of the four F-22P or Zulfiguar-class frigates of Pakistan.

The president also told the crews aboard that they can visit and drop by the country anytime, for any reason.

The chief executive was accompanied by his Cabinet members led by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana during the tour which lasted for almost an hour.

The Pakistan ship will stay in the country until December 17, with a helicopter on board, skippered by Captain Shahzad Iqbal.

The said goodwill visit includes a series of confidence-building engagements between the Philippines and the Pakistan Navy personnel. It also promotes friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the navies of the two countries.

Other activities also include shipboard tours, visit to national heritage and some historical places in Manila.

PNS also docked in China and Thailand prior embarking in the Philippines. It will stop next in Malaysia.
