Manila, Philippines – Otso Diretso senatorial bet and former
Interior Secretary Mar Roxas is grateful and honored to be included in the list
of the Catholic Church’s 10 best senatorial candidates.
“Malaking karangalan para akin na mapasama sa listahan ng
Catholic Church bilang isa sa 10 Best Senatorial Candidates. Mabigat ang
kanilang mga batayan sa pagpili. ” said Roxas
“Ang simbahan na mismo ang nagsasabing walang katotohanan
ang mga maling bintang sa akin.
Taos-puso akong nagpapasalamat, kasama ang
aking pamilya. Kasabay nito ang dasal na magkaisa ang sambayanang Pilipino para
sa One Good Vote.” He added
The lay arm of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the
Philippines (CBCP) endorsed all 8 candidates of the opposition slate Otso
Diretso, Grace Poe and Neri Colmerares
in the upcoming elections.
Reportedly, the Catholic group considered the candidates’ character
and honor, competence and abilities, faithfulness to public service, and
faithfulness to God, the Constitution and the laws in choosing their bets.
Along with Roxas, Bam Aquino, Grace Poe, Gary Alejano, Neri
Colmenares, Chel Diokno, Samira Gutoc, Pilo Hilbay, Romy Macalintal, and Erin
Tanada are included in the list.
All candidates except for Poe and Colmenares belong to
opposition’s Otso Diretso senatorial slate.
