Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday blasted claims painting her readiness to assumme presidency as "eagerness" to get the position, following the warning from President Rodrigo Duterte that he might declare a revolutionary government.

In her weekly radio program, Robredo reiterated that she was only responding to questions about her preparedness to carry out the mandate just in case.

“Hindi naman tayo iyong nagsimula ng usapin. Actually, si Pangulo ang naggawa ng isang deklarasyon at tayo ay pinapa-komento lang doon,” the vice president said

The President last week warned his critics that he would suspend the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus, order their arrest and declare a “revolutionary war” until the end of his term.

This statement from Duterte was his reaction to Sen. Franklin Drilon’s call for the administration to exercise “extreme caution” in reviewing government deals, saying existing and binding contracts cannot simply be declared onerous and canceled.

According to Robredo, the President's plan of a revolutionary government was not similar to former president Corazon Aquino's declaration.
