Manila, Philippines – Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte stressed that her father President Rodrigo Duterte was cheated by close to three million votes during the national elections in 2016.

Hugpong ng Pagbabago chair made the statement after she slammed Vice President Leni Robredo over her comments that honesty should be a requirement for candidates saying Robredo herself has a questionable win.

“Ang ine-estimate namin, about two to three million votes that President Duterte lost because nilipat sa ibang kandidato,” the fierce mayor of Davao City said

Duterte added that her father should have won between 17 to 19 million votes during the national elections.

“There an estimate two to three million votes shaved off from the votes of President Rodrigo Duterte. So nasa 17 to 19 million yung real votes ni President Duterte, not 16 million,” she said.

President Duterte won the presidency with more than 16.6-million votes based on the final tally made by the Joint Session of Congress sitting as the National Board of Canvassers.

“Kung puwede lang mag protesta si President Duterte for the votes that he lost because of cheating… But that because nanalo siya, he cannot file a protest because he’s a winner. ‘Di ba? So, ‘yun yon,” the mayor said

“We do not, hindi na natin ma-account ngayon because he cannot file protest, because he won,” she said.

According to Politiko report, Mayor Duterte finds it suspicious that the total votes casted for senatorial bets last 2016 elections have wide differences compared to those in presidential and vice-president candidates.

“Tinitingnan natin yung boto ng mga senators, yung boto ni Leni Robredo, nung ibang candidates, makikita kung nasaan yung mga boto,” said Mayor Duterte.

Former Senator Bongbong Marcos who ran against Robredo filed an electoral protest over alleged “massive fraud” during the 2016 elections.

Then Senate Minority Floor Leader Vicente Sotto III in 2018 has sought an inquiry over reported irregularities found in 2016 polls mainly about the vulnerability of counting machines provided by Smartmatic.
