Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV claimed that President Rodrigo Duterte is allegedly planning to have the Davao Group, composed of Duterte’s allies; purchase ABS CBN once its stock prices nosedived and owners sell the station.

Trillanes made the statement in his latest YouTube video, saying he received an intel about the President’s move.

“May impormasyon akong natanggap na kaya tinatakot ni Duterte ang ABS-CBN na hindi ibibigay ang franchise dito ay para bumagsak ang halaga nito sa stock market para mabili ng kanyang Davao Group,” he said

“Base sa aking impormante, nag-offer na raw ang Davao Group para bilhin ito,” the former senator said

He said that once Duterte’s allies acquire the station, they will certainly win the next elections  as they could promote their own candidates and malign their rivals.

“Dahil aside sa hindi na magre-report ng negatibo ang TV Patrol, kaya pa nilang i-promote ang kanilang candidate at strain ang mga karıbal nila sa eleksyon,” Trillanes, one of the vocal critics of the President, said.

Trillanes believes that Kapamilya artists could also be used to campaign for Duterte allies once Davao Group takes over.

Duterte recently accepted the apology of ABS CBN President Karlo Katigbak for airing the negative political ad reportedly paid by Trillanes in 2016.

“Nandiyan na eh (It’s already there.) I accept the apology, of course,” Duterte told reporters Wednesday at Malacañang.
