Vice President Leni Robredo returned to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro for the second time to bring more financial assistance from private donors and GPS equipment from her flagship anti-poverty Angat Buhay program.

Robredo visited the 22 fishermen of Philippine fishing boat Gem-Ver, whose boat was rammed and sunk by a Chinese trawler in Recto Bank last June.

In her Facebook post, Robredo said the fishermen temporarily turn to other ways to make a living after the destruction of their boat.

The fishermen were glad to accept the donations from the private donors and from the office of the Vice President.

Aside from financial assistance, the fishermen also received the all in one GPS tracking system and fishfinder, which will be attached to the F/B Gem-Ver while it is being repaired.
