On Thursday, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero revealed that
he has possession of records that would supposedly show that the “back up” SD
memory cards used in 2016 elections were not replicas or “mirror image” of the
original memory cards.
Escudero said that he is willing to present a witness, who
he referred to as a former elections official, to validate his claim.
He added that he would be able to prove discrepancy between
the two sets of SD cards, which he believes could affect the results of 2016
elections “at a certain degree.”
“Actually, we have in our possession print outs, but it will
be better if the witness will state that the back-up drive was not a mirror
image of the main drive,” Escudero told the reporters.
“If it is not an accurate picture or carbon copy of the main
drive, the results [of the election] will change to a certain degree,” he
added.
“I’ll be presenting that in the next hearing actually,” Escudero
also said.
Escudero also ran for Vice President and lost to Leni
Robredo in 2016 national elections.
Meanwhile, the vice president is currently facing an electoral
dispute pressed by her competitor former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.
Furthermore, the senator made his claim while asking Comelec
officials how many back up SD memory cards were used in 2016 elections and if
they could possibly distinguish where the transmitted votes came from ( from
the back up or main memory cards).
According to Escudero, he does not only have the copy of the
records but also the witness.
“Actually may print out kami nakuha pero mas maganda
manggaling sa testigo mismo na nagsasabi
na hindi mirror image ‘yung back up drive nung main drive,” he said.
“Ang tanong, ilan sa back up drive ang pinadala? At nasaan
‘yung record ng back up drive? Apparently walang ganung record ang Comelec kaya
hiniling namin na maibigay sa committee para makumpara at mapag-aralan ng
husto,” he added.
Escudero also confirms his attendance with the witness in
the next hearing.
