Leni still hopes for better working relationship with Duterte amid hostility

Manila, Philippines – Despite being an “enemy” to President Rodrigo Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo said she is still hopeful about having a “better working relationship” with him.

She said even from the start, the President had shown her hostility when a separate inauguration was held for them in 2016 after winning the elections.

Robredo  said

The vice president said it showed that Duterte did not trust her when she was removed from being the chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council back in December 2016.

Nonetheless, Robredo mentioned her accomplishments during the first half of her term, especially the anti-poverty efforts of her flagship project, the Angat Buhay Program.
