Vice President Leni Robredo said that self-proclaimed whistleblower who accused President Rodrigo Duterte’s family of involvement in the illegal drug trade should be placed under the Witness Protection Program if he indeed is a real person.

This statement from Robredo came after anti-Duterte blogger named Rodel Jayme, was arrested for allegedly uploading the ‘Bikoy’ video.

“Ako, marami kasing tanong: una, mayroon ba talagang Bikoy? Ang gusto kong sabihin, si Bikoy ba tunay na tao? Kasi kung tunay na tao, ‘di ba dapat, kasi parang whistleblower din siya, hindi ba dapat bigyan ng proteksyon para malaman kung totoo o hindi ang sinasabi?” Robredo said, as reported by Politiko.

Robredo said claims of Bikoy should be checked to prove if allegations were true.

“May sinasabi siyang mga bank accounts. Bakit hindi tingnan kung totoo? Kasi ano lang naman eh, madali naman i-check iyon. Kung hindi totoo, eh ‘di gustong sabihin, nagsisinungaling iyong Bikoy,” she said.

Jayme had been earlier identified as the beneficiary of the Ad Sense account by a number of online personalities. He was allegedly the source of the video featuring alias “Bikoy”, the hooded-man who slandered the Duterte family including the President’s minor daughter.

Bikoy also accused Duterte’s aide, senatorial candidate, Bong Go, of involvement in the narcotics trade.

According to NBI’s report submitted to the inquest prosecutor, the investigation showed the first uploader of Bikoy’s video was a Youtube account under the name “Ang Totoong Narcolist”.
